[22:28]  1 tn Heb “for to the Lord [is] dominion.”

[37:4]  2 tn Following the imperatives of v. 3 the prefixed verbal forms with vav (ו) in v. 4 indicate result. Faith and obedience (v. 3) will bring divine blessing (v. 4).

[37:4]  3 tn Or “and he will give you what you desire most.” Heb “and he will grant to you the requests of your heart.”

[115:3]  4 sn He does whatever he pleases. Such sovereignty is characteristic of kings (see Eccl 8:3).

[115:10]  5 tn Heb “house.”

[115:10]  6 tn Or “[source of] help.”

[115:10]  7 tn Heb “and their shield.”

[115:13]  8 tn Heb “the fearers of the Lord.”

[115:13]  9 tn Heb “the small along with the great.” The translation assumes that “small” and “great” here refer to age (see 2 Chr 15:13). Another option is to translate “both the insignificant and the prominent” (see Job 3:19; cf. NEB “high and low alike”).

[130:8]  10 tn Or “redeem.”

[130:8]  11 tn The Hebrew noun עָוֹן (’avon) can refer to sin, the guilt sin produces, or the consequences of sin. Only here is the noun collocated with the verb פָּדָה (padah, “to redeem; to deliver”). The psalmist may refer to forgiveness per se (v. 4), but the emphasis in this context is likely on deliverance from the national consequences of sin. See L. C. Allen, Psalms 101-150 (WBC), 192.
